Twest

This is a map of the area we frequent. If you would like to see a map of the entire world, click here.

This really isn't one of the more favorable maps. The cartographer who drew this one up didn't think the east coast was that important - as evidenced in the lack of markings there. Having grown up on the east coast, I beg to differ. (Yes, there are more than two cities.)

Most cities in Fortite are self maintaining. That is to say, they aren't under the control of any one kingdom or another. The exceptions are the cities that ARE capitals of small kingdoms, like Glacia and Evergrowth. (Which are the largest. There are a handful of smaller kingdoms spread here and there.) While the major kingdoms keep peacekeeping troops in the manner of royal guards and fleets, other cities are left on their own for how to deal with local crime. Some cities, like New Echo, rely entirely on the local Bounty Hunters Guild for protection. The city puts a tax on all purchases made in order to pay the guild for their services. Other cities, like Arcana, use a similar taxing system, but use it to pay for a local police force and navy.

Franklin

Franklin is the best place on this side of the continent to acquire a good map. With the exception of a few rare maps we've acquired on various adventures, they have the best quality you can buy.

Lybra

Lybra is best known as the mage town. The place is almost an entire little community of mages living like regular people. As such, a lot of magic-laced items or magic-y items can be purchased there for a good price. (This is also a good place to inquire as to anything that requires a check into magic lore.)

Glacia

The Kingdom of Glacia rules most of the snowy north. Though they've loosened their grip in recent years, they are still a military power to be reckoned with. The infamous Inquisition was also started in Glacia, as a sister power to the monarchy. Bred with the same urge to expand, the Inquisition now plagues the entire continent, hunting down mages who go too far down a dark path and killing any arch mages or magelings they come across.

Coeli

The floating city-state of Coeli was once part of Fortite's west coast, however their kingdom was continuously plagued with earthquakes. The kingdom was once a lot more technically enhanced than it is today. Stories say that the island exists due to a mutual existence of two kingdoms occupying the same place on the floating island, but it's unclear if this is true.

Starllam

This small port town is where the Scarlet Skye found Carmine.

E'mac

Located on the edge of the Great Forest (which is the second largest forest area on our continent), E'mac is an agriculturally rich town full of farmers and hunters. Food stuffs of every sort are available here for rock-bottom prices.

Cyber Connection

Very self-contained, Cyber Connection abandoned magic in lieu of pursuing technological advancements. The city is home to some of the best mechanical and electrical smiths in the world. Stories say they have coaches that travel through the air along long metal lines, and can communicate through glass screens with people miles away. (It may not be magic, but it sounds pretty close.)

New Echo

The capital city of this half of the continent, New Echo is a bustling business center. The prices aren't always great, but chances are, you can find anything here.

Alabeck

Alabeck is located between the Great Forest and the Rockwall Mountains, and is a city focused primarily on hunting. Any hunting or fishing supplies one might need are going to be the best priced here, and the selection is going to be the best.

Watcher's Cove

According to legend, sirens live here. Some stories even tell of a large beast that eats ships.

Sewol

Sewol is slowly eating into the Great Forest, but they try to replant as they go. The reason is that the trees in this area are the strongest and best quality for ship building. This is the place to resupply if your ship (sailing or air) takes substantial damage.

Syndew

A small, coastal, tourist town. (The Lunar Medallion turned up here in a pawn shop.)

Temple of Gni'Kat

(I added the marker for here onto this map. It originally was only marked on one of the maps we got from Kit.)

The Crystal Cave

Just what it sounds like. Connected to the Fractal Bay, the Crystal Cave runs deep underground, and quite a ways in. No one has ever managed to explore very far into it because of the perils held within.

Idracab

Kyle's favorite haunt for alcohol. This is largely a brewery town. By relation, the restaurants are pretty good, too. Tiara loves this town for those.

Sandlord Ridge

In the rainy season, a river runs through here. In the dry season, it provides one of the easiest - although not always safe - passages through the Rockwall Mountains. Stories say a dragon lives here.

Bethsaida

A fishing town.

Pelican Point

A tourist attraction cape town, mostly occupied by old people and fishermen.

Evergrowth City

The Elvish capital of the middle of the continent, surrounded by the Evergrowth Forest and protected from outside influence by the Rockwall Mountains and the Spinal Mountains. The people of Evergrowth City are very stately and peaceful, but are a magic force of nature to be reckoned with. Their affinity with all things natural encourages the growth of the forest around their city, which is rich with rare plants and beasts. Glacia once attempted to expand into this area of the continent, but their ice magic was shut out by the thick natural magic of the Elvish people.

Arcana

The capital city of the east coast, Arcana is almost as busy as New Echo. However, while New Echo focuses on trade, Arcana focuses on knowledge. The universities and libraries here are the largest in this region. Their local military is a on par with that of Glacia, and is one of the few reasons that the Inquisition stays away from this section of the continent.

Cordonis

Marked on this map because it is the farthest south that the Arcana Navy still has jurisdiction. Beyond this point, the Inquisition once again maintains a presence.
